Why oh why would you place IE third? This list is obviously not organized by user base, otherwise IE would be number one. Assuming, then, this list is organized by browser experience and feature set, IE should not even be on this list. It’s a disgrace and nuisance to the browser world.

You state this as a feature of IE: “Compatibility with older versions so that the visibility is not an issue.” Yeah, so IE can show off generations of crap rendering. IE is a joke and Microsoft should abandon the browser market. Their browser fails to render even the most basic CSS. It’s a nightmare. IE has abandoned all standards that every other browser on the list follows.

You should edit this post and remove IE from the list. I was going to forward this to a few people who are still using IE, but now I won’t. There’s no way I’ll let them think their browser is even third place.

Not trying to be jerk here but who came up with this list? My main gripe is Internet Explorer at position 3. I know it’s been around for a very long time but that alone does not give it the right to be in the number 3 position. It’s user base is only as large as it is because for awhile it was the only feasible browser to use and I’m talking back in the 1990s here. It’s user base has been on the decline year after year for the last 5 years.

Anyone who does any sort of web programming will be the first to confess that I.E. is the biggest pain in the butt to program for. Usually all other browsers will conform and operate as one would expect them to but I.E. is like the red-headed step-child. Sorry if that’s you… it’s just an expression.

I will admit that it seems like Microsoft is getting their act together in the browser realm with I.E. in Windows 7. But should I comment that they are just now releasing a version of their browser that is css3 compatible when other browsers have been out with these features for a while. Not to mention its only in Beta.

Part of me thinks I.E. was placed third on this list just to get people to start a dialogue and disagree thereby making their site more friendly with SEO content. If that was the motivation, it worked.

See the IE is on number 3rd in the list because it has got user base and the main reason of having users worldwide is that its distributed with windows and we have not listed IE on number 3 to rank the page higher.

By the way feature wise no one can defeat mozilla and there are many glitches in IE while rendering CSS we also agree with this :)

And ya we are also familiar that coding sites which will be shown exactly how you want is really a painful task.

    1. Chrome – The add-ons are comparable to Firefox now
2 (tie). Opera – Dragonfly is just as good or better than Firebug
2 (tie). Firefox – Still a memory hog
    3. Anything other than IE. At least until they get up-to-date with web standards. I think IE9 might do the trick.

Yea Chrome has got good number of add-ons as well as their add-ons are also feature rich but still firefox has far more better and large number of add-ons.

Dragonfly in opera is really quite impressive but still its not that much faster as of firebug.

IE may improve in IE 9 may be having better standards :)

IMO, I think Chrome should be #1 and Firefox #2. Firefox tends to use more memory vs Chrome, I don’t know if thats for other people but it does to me on my desktop and my laptop. Chrome seems much smoother than IE and Firefox. Opera and Flock should be ahead of IE.

I think google crome is better than others such as firefox, opera and internet explorer because in slow connections crome work grater than others. It is for windows xp for windows 7 internet explorer is best. One advantage of internet explorer is that it contain many built in security.

I’m going to go ahead and say that I use Google chrome. Not only because Firefox started freezing on me every couple of seconds, but also because I prefer the interface of chrome as opposed to Firefox. The feature which allows you to see screenshots of recent sites is simply a godsend and the ability to move tabs is pretty cool as well. As far as Internet Explorer is concerned, I hate it. I don’t think it shuold even be a browser anymore because it’s honestly a terrible web browser.
