Microsoft is Working to Bring Bing Application to Android

Jul 19, 2010 by

There has always been a huge rivality between Microsoft and Google. As you know, Microsoft has been a developer of operating systems for a long time. After a huge success with operating systems for computers, Microsoft has launched his well-known browser Internet Explorer. Besides Internet Explorer Microsoft has its own search engine called MSN Search when it first started.

Over the years Microsoft has changed the name of its search engine many times and now we’ve good a service that is called Bing. On the other side, Google has been busy with their search engine and over the years Google has become the leading search engine on the market. Besides that, Google has released Android OS for mobile phones that is using Google search as well.

Although Google is leading search engine on the market that doesn’t mean that there’s no competition. Speaking of competition, Bing is on a third place as a search engine just behind Google and Yahoo.

As you surely know, Microsoft is working on mobile operating systems as well and they are all using Bing search engine. Interesting this is that Bing search application is available on iOS and from the recent news, we find out that there will be Bing app for Android OS. Microsoft wants to keep its search engine available to all its users on different platforms and operating systems so this move was expected. Android OS is ranked as the second most popular mobile operating system in the United States and since it has millions of users it’s not a surprise that Microsoft wants to keep its users.

It remains a question how many Android OS users will be using Bing instead of Google on their mobile phones? Maybe Microsoft users will keep to their favorite search engine but most of the users will just ignore this app and they will continue using their default and preferred search engine, Google. Still, it’s a good thing that Microsoft takes care about his users and we’re hoping to see Bing search application for Android OS soon enough.
