Google Planning to Start Music Service

The internet giant, Google Inc, is planning to start a music download service, which will allow mobile users to listen to songs wherever they go and whenever they want. Media reported that Google is in talks with music labels on the plan for a download store and a digital song locker. Google’s plan is considered as move to compete with it’s rival Apple’s iTunes.

Sources said that Google told that Andy Rubin, the brains behind Google’s Android mobile operating system, has been leading conversations with the labels about what a new Google music service would look like and the service may be launched by December2010.

Apple started the sales of digital music in 2003 through the launch of iTunes and still it continues the monopoly in music industry. Apple dominates more than 70 percent of all US digital music sales.Market analysts expressed that Google can shine in the music industry using the large data, from YouTube and from search.
