My question would be, where do we get these refurbished ThinkPads? It would also be great to know where we can source these inexpensive laptops. But this is great, we seldom or never see this advertised anywhere. Hence, we don’t know that such a deal exists. Great work!
This is great. I am wondering though if these can run OS that is higher than XP. I want to buy a new laptop run on Windows 7 not XP. Also, how much difference are we talking about? It should be substantial enough to warrant me buying a refurbished unit rather than a brand new one.
This is a great list. Something that I can consider when I get a laptop for my high school kid. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’d love and go purchase him a brand new one but he has already ruined 3 units before. So, I before give him something inexpensive yet good quality laptop.

I have used both IBM’s thinkpad and Lenovo’s thinkpad while working in IBM. I must say that IBM thinkpad is real robust one. Even after 4 years of rough use my T40p was rock solid and never gave me any problem. Thanks for informing that IBM sells their original laptops.
